2. How will the education support my child/ young person?
Our settings SENCO, Sheridan Locke, will oversee any additional provision we make to help your child. We value highly the input which parents provide in planning for their children’s learning, and Sheridan works closely with families to ensure best provision for their child. Your child’s key person will also be involved in this process. You can choose who you would like to talk with – your child’s key person and/or SENCO.
We are a small team, so it is likely all practitioners will be involved in your child’s care, with their key person and our SENCO having a special role in this. All our staff are committed to providing all our children with the best possible educational experiences at preschool.
Our preschool is run by a committee, consisting of Debbie Young (Preschool Leader) and Liz Carr (Preschool Deputy Leader), John Jolliffe (Chairman and Head of our local Primary School) and Emma Langley (Ecumenical minister of The Church in Westbury Park, of which our preschool is a part). As well as regular Management meetings, John and Emma always make themselves available should any exceptional matters arise. Emma, being a Minister, is also well placed to provide pastoral care.
We regularly review all our provision (including SEN) as a staff team and question parents about improvements they would like to see made to our provision. We take part in an annual self-evaluation process (The Bristol Standard) which helps us identify areas for improvement so we can improve on our previous best.
